Privacy
This notice says what this website collects about you, why, who handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. Last updated 16 October 2026.
Who we are
MAVEX is a trading name of Max Patterson. Based in Romford, Essex. Email max@mavexdigital.com, phone 07491 556718. MAVEX is the controller of the personal data this site collects.
The contact form
If you send the form we receive your name, your phone number, your trade if you give it, your message if you write one, and the page you sent it from. Your name and number are the only required fields. We use them to reply to you and for nothing else.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you've asked us to get in touch, and replying is what you'd expect. If you go on to ask for a price, we also rely on taking steps at your request before a contract.
The form is processed by Netlify, which hosts this site. Netlify stores each submission in its dashboard, runs it through its spam filter (Akismet, run by Automattic) and emails it to us. Netlify also records your IP address and browser type with each form send, to help filter spam, and keeps them with the enquiry. Our email, including these form alerts, arrives in a Gmail inbox, so Google handles it too. Netlify, Automattic and Google are in the United States. Netlify and Google are certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and Netlify's data processing terms are part of its contract with us. Where a transfer isn't covered by that framework, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum built into the processor's terms.
WhatsApp and phone calls
Tapping a WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp with a message already typed for you. Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp, and from then on Meta's own terms apply. Tapping the phone number opens your phone app. Our site does not record which buttons you tap.
If you message or ring us, we keep the conversation so we can reply and follow up, on the same lawful basis as the form.
The free site check
If you use the site check, the web address you type is sent to our server, which fetches that one page to run the checks and sends the result back to your browser. We don't keep the address or the result. To stop one visitor running hundreds of checks, our server holds your IP address in its memory while it counts checks over a minute. It is cleared after that, at the next check or when the server stops, and it is never written anywhere. If you then send the result to us on WhatsApp, Meta's terms apply from there.
Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted by Netlify. Like any host, Netlify records the usual server logs (your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type) to run and protect the service. We don't use those logs to identify you. Netlify's own privacy policy sets how long it keeps them.
Analytics and cookies
This site runs no analytics and sets no cookies. Nothing is stored on your device by us.
How long we keep things
Form enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted after twelve months, from Netlify and from our inbox. The same period applies to WhatsApp messages and emails.
If you become a client, your details are kept for as long as we work together and for six years afterwards, because tax and accounting records have to be kept that long.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop or limit using it, object to our use of it, or ask for a copy in a form you can take elsewhere. Email max@mavexdigital.com. We'll reply within one month and there's no charge.
We don't make automated decisions about you, and we don't rely on consent for anything above, so there's no consent to withdraw.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, email max@mavexdigital.com with "Complaint" in the subject line. We'll acknowledge it within 30 days and tell you what we found.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We update this page whenever the site changes what it collects. Last updated 16 October 2026.
